Provoco Self Publishing Service
In addition to our standard Publishing Service, where we sign authors to the Provoco brand and they earn a royalty each year based on sales, there is the option to go it alone, but with us holding your hand and doing all the bits you don't have time to do, or don't want to do. All you need to do is write your book, send us your manuscript and we’ll proofread, edit, design the cover, format your book, and distribute it using your own imprint! Each month you will receive 100% of your royalties less printing and distribution costs! That's right, one hundred per-cent!
We charge £795 for this service per book, which includes cover design, detailed edit, proofing, formatting, setting out, electronic distribution, and our £250 publicity package.. You don’t pay us anything else! So, if you want to do nothing else except write, and retain your independence as an author, this is the service for you!
Manuscript critique
An experienced author, or editor, will assess your work and provide a full, written analysis covering plot, characterisation, structure, coherence, consistency, dialogue and organisation. Quite often, we find authors get so involved in the storyline, they can miss vital errors. It’s important to have your work assessed to know that your manuscript meets the standard expected out in the query world!
Publicity
Surprisingly, books don’t sell themselves, no matter how good they are. Our £250 publicity package includes an online cover reveal, online pre-order launch, and online five day blog tour prior to publication, in addition to a press release, promotional video and two months of publicity posts through three online platforms, helping you find your target market, grow your reach and make people aware of your book. If people don't know your book is for sale, they won't be able to buy it, will they? That's why Provoco Publicity is the option to choose!
Cover design
They say, ‘never judge a book by its cover’, but when buying books, one of the first things that appeals to readers is just that – a good cover! However, we realise authors aren’t designers (although we do have one who is!) and therefore, it makes sense to have a professional designer to create your book cover. Make your book stand out from the crowd with a cover designed by Provoco, starting from only £50.
Editing
Good editing is vital for writers. It’s sad that many opt not to pay for a professional editor, and this is reflected in a finished publication containing errors. Our editing service will ensure your work is not let down by a semi-colon, or by grammatical mistakes. Our detailed edit service costs £250 per manuscript up to 99,000 words and £50 up to and including every 10,000 words thereafter. So, if your manuscript has 1108,000 words, folr example, the cost would be £300.
Proofreading
Proofreading is another vital element of preparing your book for sale. Proofreaders will examine your work for plot holes, continuity errors, fifteen-month pregnancies and dead people appearing in chapter 10, when they were murdered in chapter 5. Combined with a line by line edit, this service is highly recommended.
